Glad to see the tension building up between Cameroon and Nigeria over the Bakassi Peninsula .
Cameroon authorities have disputed Nigerian media reports that Nigerians were killed by Cameroon Gendarmes last week, to avenge the killing of six divisional officers, of Combo Abidimo (Cameroon)
Just the usual tit for tat killings going on between the two of them, then. This all goes back to 2006 when the ICj ruled that this particular piece of land belonged to Cameroon and not Nigeria. Natuarally Nigeria, said “My Bad” and it promptly revereted to Cameroon.
Actually no, its all timed to co-inside nicely with us passing 70 miles to the north of this area in early August when we cross the border.
Nigeria began to withdraw its military, comprising some 3000 troops, beginning 1 August 2006, and a ceremony on 14 August marked the formal handover of the northern part of the peninsula. The remainder will stay under Nigerian civil authority for two more years
Two more years you say, so like until the 1st and 14th of August 2008………….. Super
So yeah i don’t see any border trouble issues when we try and pass through on the 10th.
